The Gut-Brain connection

The hard-wired connection between our gut and our brain is the vagus nerve. 


The state of our gut health influences our brain health. 


Bi-directional communication occurs between the gut and the brain. 


Dysbiosis (having unfavourable proportions of gut bacteria) can lead to neuroinflammation. 

Problems such as leaky gut can lead to immune system activation and downstream inflammation in the body, through a combination of immune factors and oxidative stress.
